So I've been wanting to do this for a while but haven't made the time until tonight. I'm beginning to study gradient meshes in Adobe illustrator. This here is my first attempt. It's nothing special, I know. I didn't go near as far as I would've liked for a finished product; but, it's just a sketch, and there'll be more soon. It's not my favorite technique in the world (to be honest I'd rather just paint the apple) but a good weapon to have in my arsenal none the less.

Yeah, This is really great! My first gradient mesh is on my blog. Part of the cell phone in one of my illustrations is done with mesh. Its harder than you think it should be. I feel like I got lucky :)
